I constantly get asked by potential clients "what makeup brand do you use?" Well read on and I will let you know :)
I use a range of products, all of which are cruelty free. I'm fully against animal testing and I spent ALOT of money on makeup so it's something that's important to me.
I don't have anything in my kit that I haven't tried on myself first. If I don't like it or think it's up to the job, then it doesn't make it into my professional kit (all used hygenically of course).
The main brand of makeup I use (foundation) is Face Atelier. They are a Candadian brand and it is vegan and cruelty free. I've been using this in my kit for the last two years and it hands down beats any other foundation I've tried. It's like a second skin and doesn't cake on like some other brands I've tried. It has buildable coverage so can be sheer or full coverage for those who need it.
My current eyeshadows are from Blac Cosmetics, a great NZ brand which is also cruelty free.
I don't use MAC Foundation - and believe it or not I've actually not been hired by potential brides because I don't have MAC in my kit (go figure lol). I only have 3 MAC products in my kit, two paint pots which are great for an eyeshadow base and the strobe cream, which gives a lovely glow to the skin.
On another note, if you find the foundation your artists uses doesn't agree with your skin, let them know and they'll be happy to use your own foundation or try another brand :)
Bye for now, from a NZ Cruelty Free Makeup Artist xxx
